how do you request a slipstreamed copy off microsoft? when i mailed them about this they were beyond useless in their response
 
Providing you have a retail version you have the right under MS regulation to request a replacement disc. Just tell them you are having trouble installing the update from the web and the Upgrade disc. They should make every endeavour to make your life easier. Or lose custom. They have recognised that the response from them has been a little lacking in the past and are seeking to correct things on a customer by customer basis.
I know OEM versions are not yet supported except by your supplier. In this case the company whom supplied you with Vista in the first place should be your first port of call if you have an OEM version.
If you look on Technet there are many threads discussing this issue. I am a member of Technet plus so I am able to get a copy of the slipstreamed version.
 
you have to pay for technet dont you? i have a retail copy of vista, and dont get why you cant just download a copy of vista from MS direct like the betas - just login with your serial or something.
