Vista shortcut icon problem

I followed a guide to remove the arrows off the shortcut icons, this is it:


* HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile
* HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\piffile
* HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\InternetShortcut

Then reboot

I have rebooted and now most of my start menu and quick launch icons are for the last opened programme?
How can I restore these settings (no I didn't back up registry and I don't have system retsore enabled ) I can reinstall if I have to but I am sure these settings can be restored. I don't know what the strings would say
Any ideas please?
