Hi all,

Just installed vista 64 business on to my system. I'm pleased with it so far, a few annoyances though - and hoping someone can help =)

When i listen to music through a media player its fine, the windows sounds are a bit low for though.. (like the ding, opening a folder etc.) when they're on max, and when i go into games (pro evo 2008 & crysis demo) i have to turn up my speakers as the volume is way too low.. even though the sound was loud in media player 11. (sorry if i can't explain my problem well... its late.. is it 1.40 or 2.40 O.o) - all the volumes sliders are at max in the volume mixer. I don't get why the games are so quiet >.<

I have a creative xfi music if thats any help.

While i haven't been playing music i've noticed i can randomly hear hard drives starting and stopping. The kind of sound i hear when i turn it on... not sure what that is.. never used to do it in xp.

any help would be appreciated =)

The hard drive sounds will be it indexing the drives, it'll calm down after a while.
Have you got the latest drivers installed for the xfi?

Hi modo, thanks for the reply.

Yep, i downloaded the latest drivers for it... in the windows device manager i've noticed under sound controllers - Creative SB X-Fi and High definition audio device.. and there is no driver for it (and windows can't seem to find one) .. i guess i'll try reinstalling the drivers again!

=)
