Vista SP1 is great!

Seems fine for me, but I never found Vista 64 to be a slouch on my quad anyway, network transfers are better, they don't seem to hang every few mb like they did pre SP1.

I was hoping that SP1 would fix the problem i have when trying to open office 2007 documents and losing their location and telling me the document doesn't exist
I had assumed that this problem had something to do with Vista's slow disk access times, i guess i was wrong.

Theres a slight increase in transfer speeds, but most noticeable is that transfers start immediately rather than 'calculating', also deleting files and especially shortcuts from the desktop are now instant :) It used to take up to 5 minutes to delete a shortcut  mental!

Was also able to defrag my drives a lot quicker than usual :p

Anyone know if it fixes the 'installing a driver can deactivate you copy of vista' issue. Had this last week after installing a Nokia CA-42 cable :(

Everything is a lot snappier now, SuperFetch seems to a proper good job now :). File transfer does seem to be better, but my hard drives are POS anyway :(.

Not noticed any change in Superfetch really (although yes I'm aware they did make some under hood changes to it). Pre-SP1 Superfetch barely used by HD... and post-SP1 it still barely ever uses it. Once it learns your usage patterns it really quietens down. In fact Superfetch is intelligent enough to know what applications you load first thing in the morning and it can differentiate between week days and week ends... so at week ends the chances are that it will prep all your games into memory before you've even woken up :)

didn't know it followed your daily patterns :)

at midnight it'll start unhiding my porn folde next.... :p, and then re-hiding them at 12:02

oh dear

Windows take long to finish booting for me now. Its a bit quicker to get to the logon screen but takes longer after logon to load the startup apps.

I must say that once it has loaded, all is faster and HD activitys seems to of gonr down a lot:)

Well I can only go up to 1024 on my 230sb crt monitor now since I've put it on..it can go up to 2000s normally.

If I can't sort it i'll have to get a new monitor. :(

So far i've had 2 crashes where I had to turn the PC off to restart, 1 was in explorer, so I took off Windowblinds and everything seemed ok. Just had the same freeze whilst watching a vid on gametrailers.com. Dunno what caused it but was fine before SP1. Games are ok.
