vista-which version for gaming

im thinking that the premium version or even the home basic version is enough to enjoy your games. depends on what the secret ultimate extras are going to be...

MS should really give details about what they are selling, they cant expect people to pay £300+ on stuff nobody knows about. :(

Don't forget the Basic Version does not have the new theme (which may be fine for some people) but one of the reasons I would upgrade would be because of the new "look". :)

when i get it in couple of months, will get either premium or ulimate, will see how other get on or recommend when gaming

I think I'll happily use my XP system for the next few months at least until all the kinks are sorted out with Vista, well some of them at least, besides ATI won't be releasing their DX10 cards for a while yet and the nVidia cards are ridiculously expensive.

Wouldn't want to upgrade only to find my favorite games don't work and then having to revert back to XP.

Also, I'll wait to hear what the benefits are of Vista Ultimate are before over Premium before I commit that much money. It probably has to do with multiplayer gaming on a LAN as Business and Ultimate are better at networking also I imagine that Hardware Failure protection would be Ideal for overclockers pushing machines to the limit if it works well.
