Hi, quick Q re: OEMs

I mostly know the ins and outs of the licensing/legality of OEM editions but in reality how much of a pain is it with Vista when changing h/w etc?

With XP 32 and 64bit OEMs where I've had dead mobos and/or general h/w upgrades and swap outs it normally just lets me re activate over the web. Only once has it made me phone up and all I did was phoned up, say I was having trouble activating, gave the key and they then gave me the code I needed.

Have they tightened it up on Vista? Anyone been totally stuffed when upgrading?

Depending on how good your Mobo etc are it *should* work ok. I would not expect it to do much though, 1gb ram is not enough to actually run anything much with Vista, maybe a little internet browsing, email, that kind of thing. The processor is a little slow, I would not expect great game performance. You would be well served popping a dual core in there.
