Vista64 Drive missing problem

About once a month my IDE DVD-Rom and IDE Hard drive go missing.
On start up they are found and booted up and also they appear in the Bios, when I go to My Computer in windows there not there!(Windows is loaded in the Primary Sata HD)
Doing a system role back sorts the problem out only for it to happen a few weeks later again.
Any ideas or fixes?

Are you running any 3rd party defragging software ?

I had the same trouble with mine using diskeeper pro as soon as i rolled it back to post install of that i was fine
