Ever since I installed Service Pack 2 for my Vista Ultimate x64 it refuses to sleep, prior to installing Service Pack 2 the computer used to sleep fine, and wake up fine. Now that it's on Service Pack 2 when I click the sleep button; the screen goes black and it just sits there, the HDD's don't stop, it just idles. Although it does hibernate properly, anyone else having this problem?

It could be to do with media sharing. Go to power options>change advanced settings and go to multimedia settings at the bottom. It will most likely say 'allow the computer to enter away mode'.

Change this and it should sleep as normal.

I doubt installing sp2 would have done that. If you enable media sharing in network center i think it turns it on.

Could be SP2, I've not changed power settings and since sp2 was applied to X64 Ultimate then mine woudln't sleep either, now it does.

Thanks for the tip ;)
