Well the game is out in the US and is released in the UK on the 1st December. Thought I'd start a discussion thread for those who have it already (And have proved this, as per the GOW episodes the other week).

Mine arrived on Friday and having spent the weekend playing it I'm definitely enjoying it. Here's a picture of the Ltd edition version;

I've seen people playing this on my friends list. I have to say I am certainly very curious about it. I just seems extremely kiddy - although the trailer made it seem like the humour would appeal. It's based on a very young children's TV programme though, isn't it?

So bearing in mind I've never played games like Animal Crossing (which I've heard it's being compared to) what exactly do you do, and what is the aim - just build a garden?? Gardening sim doesn't sound great to me :(

Anyone know if there is any demo planned?

yep you build a graden, grow stuff employ people and attract animals. TBH although it preaches to be trans-generational its appeal is limited with older people. I find it very addictive, you know cos youre constantly trying to keep on top of everything and make the best [possible garden. But sadly once youve turned it off the urge to go back to it is not as strong as i would have liked, doesnt have the replay draw of something FUN like Dead Rising, and it doesnt have the "keep going!" aspect of a good story based game.

Good, and great for kids (and a quick play for yourself when they are in bed) but a little lacking in depth for adult players.

What about for the wife though? trying to get her to enjoy the odd game - do you think this would appeal? The only game I know she has ever liked is Roller Coaster tycoon, so she may like this as it sounds sort of a management game. Is there any tow player aspects to it?

I'm finding it to be the quite opposite to what ultra thinks tbh. Finding it very additive. Although it basically is a garden/animal sim these a lot of strategy involved.

Early on in the game you have to manage your money quite well since you don't earn much. The further your level go's the more seeds become available as well as accessories. More people also become available.

These also 11 levels of animals with plenty in each level. Each animal has a different residency/romance needs so you need to plan your garden around the types of animals you want to attract. You also have to defend your garden against sours as well.

it looks like a fun and enjoyable game with a bit of a challenge to make perfect, but i think it'll lack any replay value, as such i think i'll wait for it to drop in price or get it second hand for a quick bash

makes a change to the frankly gruesome gears of war, unless we can gibb the pinatas :D

You can whack them with your shovel.

If anyone wishes to discuss this in detail could you please provide proof to my email or in the thread that you own a legit version of the game please, at least for another 7 days.

Cheers. :)

^ Yeah getting a bit OTT now

It is not unreasonable if I challenge someone with the game a fair while in advanced to prove that it is not a torrented game. :)

In the rules not to discuss warez, so if you are talking about a game from first hand experience around the release time of suspect versions then it is not unreasonable.

Been that way since the 8th of December, nobody I have challenged has had an issue with it. :)
