Vive Ordered

You don't need the deluxe audio strap. It's nicer to use with headphones built in but the supplied earbuds work just fine. They are just a little bit of a faff to put in that's all.

It comes with earbuds, but, I do agree with you, for the best experience he needs to have good headphones or get the deluxe audio strap.

EDIT: just read the rest of the thread. Other people have already mentioned this.

People buy blindly, without research all the time. Sure, the Vive has the earbuds, but they are PITA and don't sound near as good as the headphones on the Strap or any decent set of headphones for that matter. So, while he might not exactly need them, they would be a good idea.

My mistake. I tried out the Vive at a clients house who said they didn't come with headphones. Also reading / watching reviews I noted an inbuilt mic and headphone socket. I didn't realise they supplied earbuds with it. Makes sense that they do.

I have tried both, prefer the Rift over the Vive for everything to be honest.
Once you get a 3rd rift camera tracking is even better.

Would like to see it with a 4th
 
One word is its insane and even better than I remember, just played some Sairento, wow, just wish I had a bit more room space.

Oh yea and I got Fallout free with the Vive so I've activated that tonight, can't wait until that comes.

Hmm, I'll add that to my whishlist. Robo Recall, Dead Effect 2 VR and Raw Data are my current work outs. I never realised how heavy my arms are until I got the Rift.
 
Only had the Vive just over a week myself. Couldnt help it when the price came down. Most of the stuff i have is free from Steam, The Lab is great. I have however purchased Kingspray which is excellent, Horseshoes Hotdogs and Handgrenades is also another must purchase. The Virtual Desktop from Steam is also a must as you can stream a ton of 3d and 360 videos direct from YouTube for an immersive experience. Apparently, Virtual Desktop is good for viewing Porn but i couldnt comment..........
