VLC or Winamp?

VLC would be better for Audio and Video for the reason that it deals with both well, but as Mattus said not really the same thing, you get much better music libary support with winamp but much better video playback in VLC

Yeah... I can't think of a program that plays video as well as VLC or MPC, whilst dealing with music libraries as well as Winamp or Foobar.

Windows Media Player might be a reasonable compromise?

Winamp is alright for video as well. In fact winamp is about as good at video as VC is as good at audio..

How about VLC and foobar200 as a combo?

I was looking a while ago for 'seomthing like Itunes' but for video..

i.e. Tagging, searching, 'albums/sets', cover art, etc.. HAven't found anything - any ideas? I could go full blown media centre but I just want a smaller desktop software.

MPC-HC by <..........................................................................> much.

The lazy people use VLC - For many years I was once one of part of this crowd.

If you want advanced features and DXVA then MPC-HC is king.

I use MPC-HC as well. But by use I mean 'double click a avi file'.

What advanced features might benefit me?
What is DXVA?
