as above
i sometimes record game footage with shadowplay, when i view it back in VLC it looks drained and washy.
what is everyone else using or can recommend to use.

thanks

PotPlayer trumps the lot in my opinion. It's great out of the box, has more options than both VLC and MPC-HC (probably combined) if you do want to tinker, doesn't require external codecs, moving forward and backwards is more fluent than either in my experience and if you want to use the playlist it trumps both by a distance.

'The program is by Daum, a Korean company'. I'll pass thanks :D

Good choice though that install guide is a little out of date, madvr now has a 64bit release.

It was updated a few days ago.

Mindbomb didn't include the 64 bit option due to reclock still only supporting 32 bit.

I tried 64 bit MPC + madvr but personally did't notice much difference in rendering times.

How much of a differnce does that have on the picture - i mean is it worth my time doing it?
If you watch mostly 1080p Bluray rips, then probably not much difference - madVR really shines when upscaling 720p material and below to full HD resolution, although even then some people don't reckon the improvements are worth the effort (for instance, the graphics card requirements are quite demanding using the higher quality settings)

It also has a "smooth motion" setting which mostly eliminates the pulldown judder you get when the display's refresh rate isn't an exact multiple of the material's frame rate, which can be useful if your display doesn't support automatic refresh rate switching (or you simply don't like using it for whatever reason).

It costs nothing but a bit of time to try it out, so really best to give it a go and decide for yourself.

Pretty much what captain crash has said.

It is also good if you have a higher res. monitor than 1920x1080.

It only takes about 10 mins to do so might as well try it :p

PS. I use super-xbr instead of jinc for chroma upscaling.
