Been a Vent user for the last 3 or so years, switched to Mumble about 4 months or so ago and never looked back. Has the best sound quality by far, no lagg, OSD with FPS counter and people on server, easier to use and you can do a lot more things with it than Vent. Another huge plus is that I got a 50 man Mumble server for free of UKGame.

I have all 3 installed, but mainly use mumble.
Seems pretty good and has some nice features.

vent is ok and TS3 seems similar to mumble, altho I don't like the whole bookmarks thing on TS3 :(

So would say mumble is a lot better than others atm :D seems to be the new standard

I love TS3. Its clean nice doesnt lagg. and the quality is perfect. Night and day difference from TS2 and i find it much more user friendly and better quality than vent. Cant comment on mumble though as i have not used that yet.

TS3 has the best codecs these days. Has individual sound levels - no more asking over-boosted people to turn their mics down, or others to turn theirs up.

Mumble is super lightweight and that's fine if you 'just want voice'.

I can't see a reason to use Ventrilo.

You can set both mumble and ventrilo to normalise audio so that everyone is heard at the same volume, saves messing with the volume controls for individuals. Mumble does a lot more than "just voice" too, for example: in game overlay, in game FPS counter for games that don't have one by default, far more customizable audio quality settings than ventrilo and TS3 and uses less bandwidth and cpu utilization.

I've been comparing all 3 this afternoon and while i prefer the look of ventrilo to the other two, mumble comes out on top in every other aspect.

Mumble. Thin client and server. It has very very good sound quality and is easily customizable.

Vent is actually quite bad, don't use that. When it comes to Teamspeak I can't say I've had any experience with that yet.

The licensing costs of TS/Vent are over the top.

Also, with Murmur (Mumble server) you could install it onto your own servers thus have more control, and it would be totally free :)

ive only ever used ventrillo tbh and had no problems at all. not used mumble at all and only limited experience with teamspeak but i just didnt get along with it at all.

had servers and still got voice coms servers up for teamspeak

mumble is the leet one but i think its worse than teamspeak and have always used ts as the number one choice.

vent just makes you sound gay :p

so in order of preference id go ts3 then mumble then vent. to be honest i wouldnt use mumble or come on it myself as i hate it :D.

more people who use wow use mumble so i think it will or might be a bit biased. nice to see you looking into it though.

also for those who say its to dear you being a company who could advertise and get a good deal from someone like ts might even get it free ;) with some good negotiation skills . or even if you pay say it costs you a couple of hundred quid a yr to ocuk whats that :D

mumble also does positional audio in a lot of games.

I've used all 3 and mumble has won out for me. And I don't play WoW :p

TS3 is quite nice - a lot better than TS2, but mumble definitely wins out and has the added advantage of being free.
