Volvo Mods - Step 3

So, i replaced all the vacuum hoses today..

Replaced the rear shocks the other day, got the fronts today

Then i polished off the black paint in the manifold, and rubbed down most of the block (as much as i can get to without removing the engine!)

I also lobbed in some cable tidy stuff whilst i was there.

So, just gotta replace the front shocks, and re-paint the alloys this weekend.

Then finally, the actuator will be coming

Lets just say the BM is on the back-burner whilst i play with this one!


Well, its had a service, will have new shocks all-round. Prolly gunna lower it a tad. I removed the massiv heavy electric aerial and replaced it with a spingy jobby.
Re-paint the wheels the weekend hopefully, more engine cleaning, new actuator to get that boost up

Depending on the times it starts making at 10-12psi i might strip it down

I am so jealous right now...

My ultimate pimp-mobile would be the 480 but for me, it has to be in black with the red trim (as pictured) but I can find any decent condition models for love nor money around here! (I say money, i mean cheap money )

The auto box wouldnt bother me too much provided it wasnt the N/A engine.. 'pose I should stick with the ZX now Ive just stuck 12 months MOT on it

if there are silicon yeah they do, can handle higher temps and pressures, thats what I was told when spending 900 quid on the samco kit for my scoob

You paid £900 for silicon pipes on a scoob, what pressure where you running?

whoever said silicon pipes can take heat was a lier, they crack over time when exposed to high temperature, this is what I have seen with samco ones anyway.

nothing massive 1.25 bar IIRC I had the full samco set, including the weird one with lots of metal bits on it, that alone was 185 pounds

But pretty pointless pointless spending the money unless the originals are knackered and the silicon ones are cheaper than OEM, or you are running so much pressure that the OEM ones have burst.

Silicon isn't as "tough" as the OEM rubber ones IME, it doesn't take much to cut into them with a sharp edge etc.
