Volvo Mods - Step1

6.3 seconds for my 2.0l auto bus

i mean forester S/Tb....

:D

Should be achievable, have you fitted a bleed valve on the actuator? thats a good cheap way of increasing boost

:D

Oh yes.

Been used for road rallying. :D

Forgot to ask, how are you doing the pull away?

Just flooring it? or holding on the brake, and spooling the turbo up first and bringing the torque converter up to near stall?

:D

Malt, is that shifting manually or just throwing it into drive?

Best technique - stick it in first, hold it on the brake, rev it as high as you can without moving forwards and hold it there, then let fly :D

Yeah wait for the revs start to drop, that means the torque converter is starting to stall, and then let off brake... if the turbo is spun up you will get more acceleration... D is fine tho, unless you want to change the shift rpm...

Thats what im doing, giving it some, till it starts to creak :p

Then letting go of brake and all hell breaks loose, Then im manually shifting just before hitting the red-line :D

I bought some redex stuff today for the volvo, along with a new air-filter and plugs. Are these fuel system cleaners any good?

Im putting these down as routine mainenance/perishables, so not adding them to the tally for moolah :p

I could find no leads at the local helfrauds, so i shall just clean up the originals a bit :)

Fingers crossed might help me get the time down a tad!!

Are the plugs colder than standard as you are ramping up the boost? Though new ones are better than not new I suppose.
