I have a ticket to go to this tomorrow however have injured myself karting so can no longer go:

Location: Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicester
Date: 24/10/10
Time: 1:45pm - 5:30pm

The pass allows 1 driver and 1 spectator. You must bring both paper / plastic drivers license on the day, and under 25s are restricted to cars 191bhp or lower.

If anyone can make the trackday tomorrow and is able to collect from NG12 this evening then please post here. I will be back online this afternoon. Only restriction is you must have 100 posts to be eligable.

huh ?

100 posts where ? here ?

and where does the Volvo S60 Naughty come into it ?

That's what volvo are calling it. I think it's a "We don't just make estates! This car goes fast!" type thing.

I'm actually off to Leicester this weekend, but am already en route so don't have my full license. Would have been fun, if I cod have swung it with the wife!

Yep, drove it on the road a couple of weeks back and its not bad and have been invited to this. Hopefully they will have the T6 as well as the D5 there.

I suppose they also don't want to be attracting a load of chavs who have no intention of buying the top end model to rag it up a runway for a bit of a laugh when they could be offering that space to people who would actually buy. It's fairly sensible, obviously there are exceptions but I can't imagine the market for the top end brand new S60 being particularly popular among under 25s.

Brunters is very nervous about letting loads of yoof attend their track events. It's fine on family days such as Asda charity day but at track events they get worried that loads of noisy heaps turn up and pee off the locals wheel spinning away and acting generally like nobs.

Don't shoot the messenger.

How is it? This isn't a case of running your own car.

Exactly. You're driving a Volvo in a safe(r than your average road) and controlled environment :p

From what I gathered from the terms and conditions mentioned in the radio ads for this, they've already cherry picked the people they've invited along.

They have a similair thing to this at Ingliston in Scotland, it was pretty good they had some Police cars that you had to try and escape from although he told me to calm it down. Not a patch on the Vauxhall VXR track days.

That's the number one reason I refuse to go on one of these track experiences where you drive someone else's car with an "instructor".

Having someone tell me to "calm down" would spoil the fun completely for me :(.

The Vauxhall day is pretty epic.

Shame its not as good :(

What are they supposed to do though? Line up a load of quick motors, have the first half a dozen baseball cap wearing McDonalds addicts turn up, stuff them into the nearest solid object then pack up and go home to wait for the INJURY LIARS 4 U letters to drop through the door?

If I was genuinely interested in a VXR Vauxhall for example then the chance to get a real feel for it on track would be great, even with someone watching over my shoulder.

He only tells you to calm down if your driving like a muppet or likely to be flattening the cones, they have to make sure the cars are good for 4 sessions over the weekend so having idiots destroy them in the 1st session won't exactly help them???

I think it is a sensible idea seeing as most people under 25 won't have had much if any experience with big power motors.

I had over 300bhp at 24

You pretty much just as much driving in any car if you act like a knob.
