Volvo V40

I can think of no logical reason why you would choose to own both a Volvo V40 and a Galant. I mean what?

Galant- needed stuff doing, I couldn't be arsed to fix immediately but instead do them one by one when I'm bored.
V40- Attached to it, works 100%...

I'm lazy with the Galant and attached to the Volvo.
I'll need to do other things like moving my sound system over and get new cabling for the galant too after it's fixed mechanically...

So thats over a THOUSAND euros a year extra to have two crappy old totally average cars rather than one?

If one was an Elise or something fair enough but seriously, what a massive waste of money. It makes absolutely no sense at all.

But surely you could just have one better car than paying for 2 generic cars?

Read his 'review' of the V40. Can you imagine what would happen if he drove a car thats actually half decent? His head would explode. I dont think he'd be able to comprehend even something like a 106 GTi.

But you are getting nothing back for it!? At all?! It's completely wasted money!

Yes I do, 2 cars, if one of them breaks I don't need to feel dependent on taking one of my dads cars.

Plus I like driving them both in different ways, the Mitsubishi will need work ( aside from fixing it) to get the things I like in the Volvo ( like good audio).

Imaging if you sold both cars, what would your budget (initial and monthly) be?

Bet you could get something half mint for the money.

Your life tho, obviously.

Genuine "LOL" :D

Please Fox. As he's mentioned time and time again, hatchbacks are crap and slow. That's why he's opted to buy the sheer powerhouse that is the Galant.

After uni and phone bills, I'd have about 750 ish per month to spend on whatever I like. Most of it goes to booze, eating out, and electronics ( for example I bought a new tv, an av receiver, and a couple of speakers in the past month)...

Right you need to sell the purple punisher and the Volvo to get a deposit, then buy one good car.

The interest on a loan cant be much worse than what you are wasting on those 2 cars.

I'm picky about my car though, I want a car that is faster, manual, but definitely not any smaller or less comfortable than I have now...

Fox says get a lotus or an mx5 or whatever, I don't want a car without all the comforts of my current cars and a car I can't go on a holiday with with 4 people is useless to me. Don't get me wrong I love driving something like an MX5 one of my mates bought that as his first car, but it's useless if I want to go on a holiday with a couple of people or even pick people up from town, and I'd hate not having my arse heated in winter and sitting in a 22C controlled area at all times.

Bit of progress here chaps we need something sporty, manual with 4 doors.

If you binned the two bangers you had now and put some of the 'spare money' you claimed to have after buying the Galant to good use you could indeed own one car with all the comforts of your current car.

Having them both is just completely and utterly useless. I cannot see a single point in paying over a thousand euros a year extra to have two cars when cars in question are the two you have.

'Which utterly forgettable saloon car from the 90's should I drive today?'
