Voting rules help

Hi today I have voted in the general elections and the local elections in a London consistency. At university I got put on the electoral role and have received a voting card for the local elections, not the general.

So my question is can I vote in my university towns local election since I have already voted in London? I don't want to cause any problems etc, but wouldn't mind voting here as well :confused:

What's your opinion? Does anybody know the rules?

You should only vote once, if you're on two registers then you may get polling cards for both but you are only supposed to be on one - think about it logically, if you are on multiple registers then your vote(s) become worth 2x (or however many registers you are on) more than anyone else who is only on a single register. I believe that I'm somehow still on two despite me having informed them of my move and not having lived at the address for well over 2 years now.

You can vote as many times as you like in local elections as long as they're in different constituencies.

Only one general election or European vote AFAIK.

Can I vote twice, at home and at uni?
You can’t vote twice in:

a UK Parliamentary, Scottish Parliamentary, National Assembly for Wales or European Parliamentary election.

But you can vote in local government elections at home and at your term-time address, as long as they are not in the same local government area.

Ah cheers for the info guys, will be heading over to the polling station on my way back from uni then.

It does kind of make sense that I can vote in multiple local elections since they only affect the areas you are living in.

My GE vote is more marginal in London which is why I made the effort to go and vote down there.

Fair enough, I stand corrected.
I knew you could register at your uni address and your 'home' address, but didn't realize that you could vote in both local elections.

Surely all of the general election votes are put in a database then cross matched to see if someone has voted twice, I would get done with my name, unique / world as far as I know.
