VPN Connection Setup

It looks like I can't as o2 have configured it in such a way that the user can't disable the firewall?

It's probably just a port forwarding/VPN passthrough issue on the O2 router.

Unfortunately I don't know the O2 router, and I've never needed to configure a VPN behind a NAT router/firewall so I've never needed to worry about which ports are involved.

Hi Guys,
Finally got round to going through a few of your suggestions and got my VPN to connect to my server, well sort of.

I can get it to connect while connected to my wifi but if I try and connect via 3G it brings up an error saying "The PPP server could not be authenticated".

The Server Log file contains the following:

Any idea on this?

sounds like your phone is trying to use PTPP whereas your router is expecting L2TP.

I'm no expert tho :p

try PTPP (port 1723)

Hi guys,
I'm back again, so I am waiting for BT infinity to be installed and as such BT have sent me out my home hub 3 which I have installed. However I am still getting the same issues when trying to VPN into my lion server?

I have not changed any setting on my 2900 and it too is coming up with the same errors. I am thinking now that it is definitely an issue with my router and as such I'm thinking of replacing all my routers with a single draytek to handle everything including Infinity connection and VPN.

What do you guys think?
