VPN router question

Afternoon all.

I am currently in the States for a month long holiday.
I work remotely all the time and my employer uses Azure hybrid and has blocked the employees from using the laptops to connect to Office 365 from countries outside the United Kingdom.

Can I buy a router and use my NordVPN subscription to appear as if I am working back home while continuing to physically work from the States?

Please advise.

Thanks.

You can try it, but the access platform that Microsoft operate is incredibly capable and will see that you are using a VPN and flag it to your employer. If you aren't meant to access company data from outside the UK then this would be a good way to pick up a disciplinary.

The fact that you've attempted to access the service and been denied will have already been logged, they already know you're in the USA. If the next successful connection comes from a known VPN provider based nowhere near your home address then it will be very easy for them to work out what is going on. I assume you've travelled to the US but not booked it all as holiday and are trying to figure something out.

Another solution is to pay for a Windows VPS for a month. Can get one from OVH in the UK for not a lot of money then just remote desktop into it and access things that way

Well, I work remotely. So, I figured why not work and be on holiday at the same time. At least, I get paid that way.

Not sure about this. Seems complicated.

How about leaving your PC on in the UK and using Teamviewer?
Have to join meetings frequently.
