VPN Router

I need a wireless VPN router that is compatible with Mac. We have a Cisco one currently that we can only setup PPTP VPN for 5 users as Cisco dont support Mac with their QuickVPN software. Any recommendations?

How many users do you have?

I would probably opt for a hardware firewall to terminate your VPN connections on, Something like a SonicWALL TZ210.

You can use SonicWALL SSL VPN which uses a client called Net Extender available on Windows/MacOS/Linux

Or get a NAS that supports VPN.

I run a Synolgoy NAS box that has a VPN server. I use it from work and abroad.

I am in the process of buying a Synology Diskstation DS213+ 2-Bay Gigabit Ethernet Network Attached Storage Enclosure - 8TB. Looking at the specs it has a VPN feature so this might be an option. Hopefully it will work with Apples built in VPN software as I've found there is a lack of Mac VPN software that consistently works.

I still need to replace the Apple Airport Extreme router as the thing is worse than useless.

That's exactly what I use (well I use the DS211 as it's a bit older).

I use PPTP for the VPN and it works out of the box. I've tested Mac/Windows/iOS/Android, so should be not a problem for you.

PPTP works fine with our Cisco router at another office but its limited to 5 users which isnt enough.

How many PPTP accounts can you create on your NAS?

It has 15 PPTP user accounts.
