Hi I was wondering if you could help me.
I'm trying to set up a VPN at home but I can't get it to work outside of the network.
I have a sky DG934G (192.168.0.1) router that deals with the internet and a WRT54GL (192.168.0.5) running DD-WRT VPN version.
On the DG934G I have set port 1723 to forward to 192.168.0.5 but it doesn't seem to get there, I also tried putting the WRT54GL in the DMZ of the DG934G but still no joy. I'm checking all this on my laptop which I've disconnected from the main network and connected to the internet though my smart phone's hotspot. I've tried connecting via my external IP and my dyndns address.
Can somebody please tell me where I'm going wrong?

Many Thanks

Could be one of two things (or both). Some mobile companies wont allow VPN across there network. Second thing, could be that the DG934G is not allowing GRE protocol 47 to be passed.

Have you confirmed that the VPN is working if you target the 192.168.0.5 from a 192.168.0.0/24 address??

Yes I've tried it from a 192.168.0.0 address and that works fine, I'll try to connect from my Mums house in a bit to rule out the mobile network.
I want to do it so I can access my NAS and other network resources.

Thanks for all the ideas so far, I'm determined to get this working if it kill me.
Right I went down to my Mothers and tried it and still no luck. I've now plugged in a DSL-2740R router in place of my sky one (after having a job finding out the sky login details) port forward port 1723 again and still no luck, again it's working internally but not from outside the network. I guess it might still not support VPN passthough so could somebody recommond a router that does, might as well make it one that has a gigabit switch and 2.4/5ghz wifi as I was looking at getting that anyway, has to be ADSL compatible (we've still gotta wait another 4 months for fibre here!).

Thanks again
