ive read that if you have 2 3gb cards in crossfire then you would only be able to use 3gb ram, if so why does it when im playing bf4 show as much as 3.5 - 4gn ram being used????

It doubles up the vram usage so half it and you have your actual usage.

MSI Afterburner reads the the VRAM wrong on AMD cards when in crossfire and you halve it to get the correct amount 4GB shown is 2GB used

i was wondering what was happening, strange old program. even shows it as gpu1 usage with nothing being used on gpu2.

is 2gb not a bit low for bf4 maxed

Erm, take a look at this thread.

2gb sounds about right.

If crossfire is working correctly you should see usage on both gpu's, though it may not be 99% constant if you use vsync or an fps limit.

yeah everything else shoes usage on both gpus, clock speed, mem speed, temp, usage etc just the ram only registers on 1

That's normal, so don't worry. I thought you meant gpu usage earlier.

If you're talking about the OSD, it only shows GPU1 memory usage. If you want to see both, then you'll have to refer to the graphs.

Either way, GPU1 usage does show the total usage as mentioned anyway

cheers kinda thought that not too worry at least i now know why i was using more vram than the card had tho
