A diesel :p

Ok, i'm selling the VTI. Currently doing too many motorway miles and so am needing a diesel for economy. I've got a 6k budget and have been looking at 320d's , A4 and A6 tdi's for comfort and economy. They also have lots of toys and in some cases quite a bit of power (for a diesel :p). Anybody had anybody experiences good or bad with the above. Or failing that, can anyone recommend a different car for similar money that might fit the bill :) I have been told that golf's are quite good in the Gt Tdi form too.

Cheers in advance guys

you can get good mpg in the vti if you keep of that vtec ;)

what kind of price you talking at spending ?

to be honest it doesn't seem to matter. When cruising at 80mph the car sits a 4400ish rpm. I can actually get more miles round town keeping to 30 than i do on motorways :p lol As for my budget.........was looking for 6k or under really

What vti do you have? Want to swap for an astra diesel? :p

While there being nothing wrong with Astra's i've already got a buyer with the cash waiting :) Just need to find a car to replace it with. Just out of curiosity, what MPG does your Astra return?

Yeah the VW TDIs are very popular, you rarly see a petrol Passat. :D

The older shape came in 90, 130 and 150bhp versions IIRC.
Worth a look as they go well, wont be cheap though I imagine as they are so popular.

VAG TDI of some sort for me. bit low money for a nice bimmer diesel IMO (I'm sure someone will come on here pimping high mileage 5 series shortly) A nice TDI 130 passat/A4/A6 etc.. and a re-map to 160-180bhp should do it!
Possibly an octavia.

Hmmmm, just been looking at the 130 golfs though not too sure on the difference between a Gt Tdi PD and a non PD  I'm kind of putting myself off audi after reading reviews of people having massive repair bills on older models :( As for the octavia..........i've got a lot of Skoda prejudice lol :p but to be honest i'm open to the best car for the job, skoda or no skoda :)
