Overclocking my 7970 and qill report my progress for future reference for other people

Settings in heaven

API-DX11
Tesselation Normal
Shaders - High
Anisotropy - 4x
Stereo 3d - disabled
AA- 4x
Res - 1920x180


First Run

Volts - 1174 stock
Power Limit - +0 --- Whats is this???
Core clock - 1050
Mem clock 1425 - When do i set this ???
Temp - max 63c

HeaVEN Score - 1910

Is a heaven run good to test stability

Heaven + a good few hours of BF3 64 person on Caspian border should find any problems there may be.

turn power limit up to +20, it just allows the card to draw more power if needed rather than throttling down.

What program are you using for overclockeing? trixxx? afterburner?

Yes set the memory to 1500 to start with. press apply after setting it and bench.

Have you noticed any coil whine with the card? like a high pitched whine when benching.

Also remember to post your max temps for each bench run.

Do the memory overclock to 1500 now as a starting point, the chipss are easily capable of 1500mhz. then carry on ramping up your core clock.

Next try 1125/1500

tried 1150 with mem clock 1500 and crashed with device removed

Time to increase voltage i think

Try 1.225v or similar. Dont ramp the voltage up too quickly. Ask Mal X
