Dear All,

I am thinking about buying a Volkswagen camper van and i was wondering if anyone here owns one themselves, or might have spent some time researching them before purchasing one. I could really do with some advice. My budget stretches up to a maximum of about £10,000.
Tell me what you think

My Sister and her fiancée have recently got one, can't say much about it though as I've only seen it in their drive. Bloody expensive for what they are though, I know that!

Maybe posting in the Motors section would be better.

person across the road from me is doing up a split screen at the moment, it started off complete gash and he looks to be completely doing it up.

Don't know him and don't want to know him, otherwise I'd ask him about it for you.

Cool cars. :)

omg, these prices are stupid. Good mileage, but considering the van is 40 years old the price is just stupid.

Year 1967
Mileage 26500

Price £27,500

They're classics nowadays you see

I guess, but still its a lot of money, every time i see a VW van they seem to be very underpowered, I spend a lot of time down the beach and surfers always turn up in them, they struggle on hills. i would prefer to buy a bran-new transit for like 20 k, personally.

Can you imagine turning up to the beach with a surfboard on your tranny van, people would think the gypos have arrived.

nothing wrong with transits :D

VW not my style lol ... way to 'try-hard', would rather see a modified transit/sprinter etc much more original and personal. :)

have you looked at mazda bongo's? in cornwall loads of guys have them instead of the vw
and they are a much better price bracket
