VW Corrado

I doubt any VW will be worth a lot more money in a few years,

Bold statement there.
I have a nice vr6 with low milage which I will not go into detail here. I will hold you to your assumption and we can take this up again in 5 years time. I guarantee however my car will have gone UP in value whereas I guess whatever you are driving will have gone down.

I think we should compile a list of cars to which this title has been attributed:

Lotus Elan
Integra Type R
MG ZS 180 (according to Tiff Needell)
mini
MINI
Corrado
106 GTI
309 GTI

People can't make their bloody minds up.

Reminds me of a Clarkson column from 1989ish.

'Golf GTI loses hot hatch crown. Again'
I've got that in one of his compilation books, it's a great column :D

What I was kinda trying to say is that any VW won't really be worth lots of money.

As we're talking about VW here its an odd market, but it'll never be worth mega bucks will it ? the corrado aint some ultra desired split screen VW camper is it ? its dirty looking early 90s coupe based on a golf.

Get a proper coupe that'll be worth money, say Porsche 968 CS's ! proper furture classic that will be worth more money in 5 years, and it ain't some sporty golf.

There is a massive price and maintenance difference between a 968 CS and a Corrado and to be honest, they are two completely different cars.

Isnt a VW camper, well, a VW?

The VR6 might be more nose heavy than the others. But the engine is great and sounds brilliant. Also you have the option to supercharge or turbocharge and they are nuts with FI.

I seen a supercharged VR6 going up the strip and the noise was amazing. :D

I've also been in a Corrado and wile it's not regarded as having the best handling of the bunch it wees all over the golf variety.

Have you ever driven or owned one?
You seem to have a sort of pet hate of them, but each to there own I suppose.

you heard it here first, Fox was reading motoring articles at the age of 5.

;)
to be fair, at the same age I was reading my dad's motoring news and CCC...

...if Fox was reading glass's guide (even back then), it could explain a few things...

I'm actually quite envious of that.
he's a very, very bright guy it has to be said.
When I was in Uni he came to give a lecture (more of a chatty Q+A session really) to us budding Motorsport Engineers. Very engaging bloke with plenty of stories and a wealth of experience!

I used to always read Walkers Workshop first in CCC followed straight away by his "Clinic" sessions - Had to throw out a tonne of old CCC's when I moved house but made sure I tore out almost every Clinic session I could find and they're all in a big box file for reference.
