Yep, you can get the traction control to cut in on the S3 if you dump the clutch at high revs from a standstill, 2wd would make that much, much worse.

The Scirocco will really struggle to put it's power down by comparison, although it may benefit slightly at higher speeds.
 
I like these, but it looks gash in that colour IMO. A Gunmetal grey type of colour would suit it much better IMO.

I wouldn't say it leaves me cold, but I just don't see the appeal, there are much quicker, prettier cars for similar or less money.

For the costs, as said above, I would be doing down the RS route.

I think VW have just tried to hit a certain group in the market. A car which doesn't cost the earth to run, which can be perceived as being quick (lets face it, 261bhp and 6.5s isn't slow... but should be quicker), but they have alienated the target audience and especially the ones who remember the old Scirocco, which is some of the most fun I've had in any car.
 
i'm not impressed, Audi S3 can do 0-62 in 5.8,stick the same engine in the scirocco and it loses over 1/2 second, why?

Hell, even my car is only 0.3s slower to 60, and i think the scirocco 2.0 Tfsi is about the same to 62, not far off anyway.

Point being, i don't think it deserves the R.
