Any OCukers got/drove one of these?

They are supposed to be much higher specced than a Golf for just a few quid more.

Pretty nice looking motor on the outside...how do they drive?

I would imagine it drives like a Golf - not bad, bit of a turbo lag, fundamentally decent car.

its the same engine as the ed30 i believe, cracking engine, with a lot of tuning potential. over 300 from a remap.

lovely looking car the more i see them, set of coilovers/lowering springs and some different alloys and it would be very nice indeed.

Found myself recoiling at the price of one after speccing a few essential options. Also they don't look that good, not bad but a bit 'meh' as is the VW way.

Given that its only outputting 197bhp would it not be the same engine as the standard GTI, or have VW detuned the ED30 engine for this car (seems pointless given you already have a 2.0T in 200PS guise)?

Saw one at the Ace Cafe a few weeks ago. Sharp looking but a big car, seemingly.

In artic white though, nice choice...

Had a sit in one a few days ago at my local VW dealership. Really nice inside, doesn't feel very big but the quality is top notch.

I saw one in Chelmsford the other day, I only saw it quickly as I went around a roundabout but it looked pretty nice.

It's actually a bit sharper to drive than a GTI, has the same engine (197BHP), and looks extremely awesome. Great car.

I read somewhere that they've done something to the turbo and intercooler and the torque comes in a lot sooner now. It might've been on www.autocar.co.uk or I heard it on Fifth Gear.

I'd love to hear the Dynaudio sound system that they're offering as an extra.

I pass a local VW dealer everyday and they've had a nice blue one on display for a month or so, looks quite smart. The arches look cool as they bulge out quite a bit

I drove one a couple of weeks ago.

A black one with the DSG gearbox.
That box is a very impressive bit of kit. Very clever, smooth and quick. It's got a lot of welly thats very usable with the gearbox. Handles nicely and feels solid enough.

Would be the only car I would buy from the VW range, looks pretty damn good from the outside and a cracking engine too, wouldnt mind a test drive to see what its like.
