VW's, what is it about them?

I want to get the Anni Golf next , looks nice on paper, its like a mid betweeen R32!

No, its a GTi with a bodykit - the way the GTI really should have been. Does your fanboyishness no no bounds, are you even going to bother to test a Cupra R, Audi S3 etc?

6.2 actually, and don't forget it's a hatchback. It'll be much more fun to drive than a bigger car with similar performance.

Just read that review again - check out the 'Usual cars' of the people who wrote the reviews. With junk that like that on your drive you could have given them a 2 litre Focus LX and it'd have felt like a supercar!

So a GTI has a V6?? :o

Oh an no, golf is a cult car, i like it and will most likely end up with another-better one. Or might go for something a bit fun (VTEC possibly or an MR2)

Why do you hate the R32 so much?

Have you ever driven one? You can't judge a car from what is written on paper.

Obviously some people have different tastes, but the R32 is without a doubt aimed at the boy racer type.

No, and neither does an Anniversary.

Yes, the anni 4motion happens to have a nice V6 inside it  however, a well tuned - remapped 1.8T could beat it off the mark. But that is beside the point, as I am a long way off choosing :)

Yush Golf's have always been that way, some serious dedication goes into the older models. infact, more so with the beetles i must say! My friend is really into it, but i'm not really into revamping dead cars lol

No, it happens to not. The Mk4 Anniversary has a 180bhp 1.8T. The Mk5 Anniversary has a 230bhp 2.0TFSI.

If you must fanboyishly Golf pimp at least learn a little about them?

I didn't know they did an Anniversary 4motion, but then new cars are not my thing and neither are Golfs really.

Think i am right (?) in saying it was a limited edition 3 door. I could be wrong, haven't looked into them much, but i know that I would like to get one, they sound sweet :)

and the 1.8T anni has 180ish BHP.

The V6 4motion has the 243 ish BHP cant remember off the top of my head.

then the R32 with the 3.2l in is something like 260bhp? 0-60 in 6.2seconds. looks best in blue!

I don't hate it at all. I just don't think it's a mythical and amazing hypercar like some of the Golf owners appear to believe.

Have you ever driven one? You can't judge a car from what is written on paper.

It works ok for you though, as you've not driven one either, at least, not properly.

Yup 'cos the boy racer types have £26,000 to drop on a Golf.

How could I possibly have driven an R32 when I'm only 18?

It may not be a hypercar, but it's still a damn fast piece of kit. Could easily burn the hell out of 90% of what's on the roads.

OK. Rich boy racer types then :D

£15,000ish, if we are picking at hairs again?

oh and the golf is far from perfect, just everytime someone passes a positive comment, it gets shunned as fanboyism or whatever the phrase is these days.

lol agreed, somebody got the stereotype wrong :) i think he meant LUCKY boy racers ;)

An R32 does not cost £15k new. If we are discussing who a car is aimed at, we must discuss the brand new price only - car manufacturers do not design cars based on a target market for used vehicles.

So not response to my post about your imaginary V6 Anniversary? ;)

How do you know I haven't been a passenger in one? :D

I admit, I haven't been in an R32, but I've seen them in action on the roads and was pretty amazed. I have been in an SL600 and a 911 Turbo though

Don't get me wrong, they are not bad cars and not slow, but the way you went on about it being faster than the devil itself gave me the impression you once whuuped a tuned Supra with one in Need for Speed and so now think it's some sort of hypercar - it's not, it's just a fast Golf (Before you start, in exactly the same way an ST220 is just a fast Mondeo).
