I have connected my virgin Tivo and v+ box this monitor via HDMI but when I set the display format on the box to 1080 it say out of range on the monitor but works fine on 720.

Why is this?

Try the dvi port on the monitor instead of the hdmi using an hdmi to dvi adapter. Also tell us more about what you have already tried, so we don't waste time suggesting things you've already done

Hi I will give it a try, Always worked fine on previous monitors first time I have had this issue.

I have tried other HDMI cables but didn't resolve the issue.

Ill trey your suggestion and get back to you.

I have a VX2770 I use with my consoles and it works fine at 1080p over HDMi. I can try it on the Virgin box if you like and see if it displays ok at 1080.

Just tried my Virgin TiVo box set to 1080 and there is no display just a blank screen. Set it to 720 and it displays fine.

My Dell 2713 when set to 1080 displays a picture ok from the TiVo box.

Weird..... ??

yeah same thing happens to me I don't know what it is.

first time it's ever happened with a monitor.

No idea tbh. My Dell displays it OK and shows it as a 1080 input but nothing on the the Viewsonic ? No idea why either..

My older Viewsoni the Vx2753MH was fine...

Might give viewsonic a ring but something is always hit and miss with their monitors.
