im getting livid with this stupid car!

Having just had all the work done on it i posted in a previous thread - then having more work done i had to pay for that i hadnt posted about, it now seems that there is something wrong with the fuelling :|

Been driving it since it got done, fine - no problems at all.

Driving it today, no problem. Went to start it this evening, and it tried, and tried some more, but wouldnt light? wtf its like someone has cut the fuel off.

So there, just thought id vent :( waiting till morning as it was dark to have a look with my dad. pos, anyone wanna buy ?

its a 02 st220. I know the starter motor isnt exactly in top notch, but thats not the problem. its just like its being starved of fuel. but there is at least 100miles in the tank.

Whats the LED by the clock doing whilst its cranking - Could be an immobiliser problem? Other possibilities are the intertia switch or the fuel pump, or an ignition problem.

When did it start giving u problems, i only ask i am looking at an ST 220 for my next car i dont want it to breakdown all the time.

this is the first problem really. bought it with 14k on it its now got nearlly 70k.

Replaced osf drive shaft, rear subframe and bushes (known problem) and new alternator so for. i cant really complain, oh and tyres, lots of tyres cos it eats them specially with it not being standard lol.

Does it start with a jump start or push ? I used to have a car that did this kind of thing and all it needed was leaving and then maybe a push start, the fuel pump was on its way out but only gave trouble sometimes

Pretty much in same league as me.

Mine was bought new. Now has 88K on the clock (went in for its big service wednesday :D )

The car has cost me lots and lots and lots of money. The car basically eats things. Tyres, discs, pads and fuel (Next Wednesday - New Discs, pads and Injectors) and you could say it eats itself.

I don't want to add up the total this car has cost me :(

It would make me upset :(

Forgot to mention I have gone through 8 banks of injectors (LPG) - £120 each :) not bad aye?

stupid question but it's not the fuel cut off is it? I believe its in the left hand side of the passenger footwell

i would be more inclined to put a bit more fuel in. not trusting the computer readout are you?. just a thought not a dig.

by the way used to have an old escort that when the fuel was low would only start in certain positions. :D

I'll give you £100 for it :p I cant really suggest anything that hasn't already been suggested except I would recommend AGAINST bump starting it (i.e. pushing it along and dumping the clutch). It has a habit of destroying the CAT apparently (or so the instruction manual said when I replaced mine)

its the fuel pump. Its not got any pressure on the fuel rail so were thinking that its busted :(

Got an electrician coming out to test all the electronics make sure its not the immobilisor.

Hope its not the fuel pump, it looks a right pain in the arse to change - its in the fuel tank, and the ford TIS says you have to take the exhaust off, the rear subframe, and take the tank out etc :(

Are you absolutely sure it has enough fuel in it? I was ready to condem the fuel pump on my MR2 a few months back, but turned out that although there was a couple of gallons in the tank, the fuel in the pump had drained out (been standing for a while) and it wouldn't prime itself until I put another couple of gallons in.
