At the moment I am just setting up and getting used to win10 on a spare drive, onto my question, when I start up win10 I get to a black screen then I get a password prompt which I believe is related to my email account, I would rather not be asked for a password at this stage or any oher stage of booting so how do I disable this

thanks

Do you want your PC to log straight into the desktop as you, or do you just want an account but no password on it?

For the former you can enter "control userpasswords2" in Run and then untick the 'Users must enter a username and password to use this computer' box. On clicking OK you will then be asked for the username and password of the account you want the PC to auto-login as.

For the latter, just create a local account with no password and use that instead, rather than tying it to your MSA. You will lose a few features and OneDrive access etc if you do this.

thought is was netplwiz, userpasswords2 was win7, wasn't it?

Works fine in W10 too. I've used it to set my server to autologin.

Edit: using either command opens the same options dialogue so it doesn't matter :p
