W240D

Update I've just set the resolution to 1920x1080 and it now fits the screen fully.

Oh and another thing How do you check to see if I have the PVA panel and not the TN panel. The reason I ask cause when you go into the monitor menu in MISCELLANEOUS/ DISPLAY CONTROL the words display control has (TN) after it. Is this right?
 
Mine says PVA, also on the back of the monitor the model is listed as W40D PVA and the box also has W240D PVA on it.

Have a look at the monitor from underneath and if the contrast and colours go way off then it's TN.
 
The box has no mention of PVA anywhere on it.

The back of the monitor does say PVA a long way after the model number. So I guess its PVA.
Can you select anything in that menu 'display control' it has options of:
FULL(16:10) then an arrow, aspect ratio then an arrow, 1:1 then an arrow and RTC with on or off next to it. The only thing I can change is the RTC on or off the arrows dont do anything.
Any idea why I cant display 1920x1200 properly
 
There's a slider in the ati control panel that makes your displayed screen size bigger or smaller, can't remember what it's called, it's somewhere in the 'display' options

quick edit: I got this a couple days ago and the picture seems kind of fuzzy, I've got the colours and contrast etc set up, the edges where different colours meet just seem to blend into one another a bit and it's giving me a headache, any idea what it is?
 
I can find nothing in catalyst for doing that. Loks like I have to keep it at 1920x1080. Not good for a week old monitor
 
That's really strange.

I'm using a W240D TN @ 1920x1200 on my xfired 4850's with no issues.

Also worked fine with a 6600GT, X800XL, 7800GT and 9800GX2 as well? :confused:

Also, all the above is in Vista64.

Can't help but think it's a monitor menu setting issue - although it should auto detect and adjust accordingly. Any settings for 1:1 or anything similar?

My menu states DVI (HDCP) connection and in the 'Display Control' section states:-

- Full 16:10
- 1:1

Also shows resolution as 1920x1200 @ 59.8hz

Set the resolution at 1920 x 1200. Go to the monitor menu (OSD): Miscellaneous - Display control > 1:1.

Then ATi Catalyst Control Centre (Advanced) > Look under the DTV collapsible menu > Scaling options and make sure 'Overscan' is set at 0%. Should fix it so long as you have an ATi adapter.

Took me a while to figure that one out myself. I can't remember if I have to do that on each catalyst install though...
 
Have to say after getting round some teething problems (related to my desk being only about 16 inches deep) I really love this monitor, except for the previously mentioned fuzziness but I'm not sure if that's me or what
