how do you come to that conclusion then? you're not the body that governs html standards, so you don't get to choose. those standards are in place for a reason.

out of morbid curiosity, what other standards do you consider to be worthwhile, and "not so" worthwhile? partially standards-compliant code is not standards-compliant.
