Ive also got a home network with the router wired into my pc and ive got my fathers pc downstairs and laptop wirelessly connected. The problem is that I can't see all off the computers connected to my workgroup. Sometimes I can see Dads on my PC, but I can't see either machine on my laptop and on dads, this happens at random times aswell. Restarting sometimes fixes the problem, but not always.

Now before I had WPA I used WEP and I didnt have this problem, the only thing I can think of is when the 'key' changes using TKIP it confuses the other pc's somehow.

All machines have the same workgroup name and also have unique computer names.

Anyone know why I might be having this problem?

If your certain it's due to WPA try turning off security and see if that solves anything.

Also updated the firmware? The default wag54g firmware isn't very good.

I didn't think there were any unofficial firmware about for WAGxxx routers? If you could suggest one for the WAG354G I'd be grateful.

(Like your sig :) )

There are unoffical firmwares but I didn't mean that, I meant upto date firmware - sorry.

If you have the UK model which is probbely is - update with this;

Annex A for UK. Annex B, I think is German.

All you need to do is pop in the config and ADMIN > FIRMWARE it should take about 5 minutes and IIRC you don't need to reconfigure everything.

Also Linksys LiveChat have good support and are very helpful.

Apparently I've already flashed it to 1.01.54, not sure how I managed that. I seem to remember using some wierd russian ftp sites though :o :D

You're probberly using unoffical firmware then. I believe 1.01.11 is the latest offical firmware for that router.

Do you have screenshots of the config screen? (the 192.168.x.x one)

Will the router flash with the offical firmware?

Ive updated to firmware 1.02.1 (Annex A)

Also a lot off the time I can't even access the routers set-up page through my main wired pc, this shouldn't be the case. I should be able to access it straight away all off the time.

You either have v1 or v2.

Look underneath the router, below the Linksys logo and near the serial number and MAC address, you have the model number and the possible version. This might say it's a v2 or v1

If it doesn't say anything, chances are it's a v1.
