After being stuck on rubbish internet for the last 10 years, I finally managed to get BT Option 4. The other day I heard a noise by the front door of my house, looked outside to see an Openreach lady connecting up the fibre :)

Only problem now is i can't find a speedtest server capable of keeping up with the connection. I've managed to get about 280Mb through Newsgroups but speedtest never gets close.

How much did you get it for, I'm about to move int oa new build with FTTP, wanting to haggle to try and get the 300mb + BT TV pack cheaper.

If you wanna try to get an idea of pricing, go to https://www.productsandservices.bt.com/products/broadband-packages/ and choose "I dont know my landline number" and then enter in the post code CM17 9SA (Thats not my post code btw, although it is near), and then for the house number pick 24 High Chase.

That will allow you to browse the deals available.

option 4 is £52 a month excluding line rental.

Where you moving to? It'll be funny if you're moving to Newhall - if so I'll have to meet you for a beer lol :)

How can you tell if BT Option 4 is available in your area?

Use the checker on the bt website i linked to further up. :)

It's unlikely though - I have a fibre optic cable coming into my house - as well as a UPS mounted on the wall lol (provided by BT).

It's because my phone line is over the fibre as well, so the ups is there so I can still use the analogue phone in a power cut.
