Wait for windows 8

Probably not worth waiting for just that. It doesn't have a release date any way?

i remember reading somewhere 2014/15 was mentioned as a release date. cant for the life of me remember where though.

It will be released next year. The idea is that they release new versions quicker, this was the case with Windows until Vista, they are getting back on track for a 2012 release. Given that there are builds out now, there will most likely be a beta release sometime at the end of the year, or like a CES 2009, they will release it at CES 2012.

I cant see why you would wait though, Windows 7 is good enough now, 8 will have a totally new UI, but there is no certainty that it will be better or worse for desktop users.

Windows 8, wont be out for a good while yet.

At least a year, and even if it come as soon as that (I doubt it) you can just install Win 8 on your hardware, that you buy now.

Pointless, it will be rubbish. Don't forget:

Windows 95 - OK
Windows 98 - Crap
Windows 98SE - Good
Windows 2000 - Good - but only really used in professional environments, so can be disregarded.
Windows Millennium Edition (Me) - Crap
Windows XP - Good
Windows Vista - Crap
Windows 7 - Good
Windows 8 - Crap?

paradisiac
not sure how reliabe a source this is, but maybe launching this summer?

If that's true, then only in beta form with a RTM in 2012. Same thing happened with Vista where it went beta for 5-6 months, but there has been a few builds leaks of Win 8 already. But if it does come out your likely to find out from the link below:cool:

I did nearly say this my self, but vista was quite a new image on XP, and windows 8 looks very similar albeit a few new features which I know nothing about.

Well, to be fair, I liked Vista, and had no issues, but the general thought was crap. Plus, If I had put good, then it would have screwed up the point I was making :p
