This really bothers me. How many times had you double clicked on 'new posts' accidently and been presented with the screen asking you to wait 10 seconds ?

What do you do ? Wait it out or switch to another tab and work on something else ?

For me, if I decide to wait I start cursing and thinking about my death and all those 10 seconds that I've wasted in my life

Wait it out. If I start doing something else it'll be hours before I get back to it. Coincidentally that's why I hate compiling. Have a quick look on OcUK while a 20second compile is running, won't close it for 20 mins . ****ing waiting.

the 10 second search limit is a very very effective way of stopping DDOS attacks from killing the server that hosts the forums. Database searches are not that intensive until they're being requested five times a second from twenty clients, which will quickly bring even the most beastly server to it's knees.

I hate the 20 sec post limit

First thing i do when I get home is open plenty of OcUK tabs and follow up questions from the day before, usually a few words or an alternative basket and waiting 20secs really annoys me

Once you have been around a little while couldn't they remove the post limit counter? This would stop new accounts spamming while letting others post as needed. If you started spamming simply enable the limit on your account (Or something like that)

I think you should be given a special 1 hour post limit.

This, common sense really!

Putting a space in front of a question marks is far far more annoying than waiting 10 seconds between searches. FACT!
