Who's waiting for Haswell series of CPU's in retina macbook pros.

I am watching closely what is happening with the retina macbook pro's. It is unclear to find out what consumers really think about the retina. Lag issues, samsung v LG etc seems to say, its a 1st generation so stay clear...

You dont know what your talking about!! Do you even own one?

I think it's clear from his post that he doesn't own one yet!

Waiting for Haswell depends on how much of an investment they are for you. If you can afford to upgrade each year then I would say go ahead and get one now, the retina screens really are stunning, but if you can't then I would wait for the next refresh when they are likely to be better and cheaper.

I've tried the 15" but think I will wait until the Air goes retina.

Hang on a moment, CNET, Verge, Engadget and few others have all commented on the Lag issue and on youtube plenty of reports of the image retention issue of LG panels against samsung panels.

So let's have some perspective.

I am merely commenting that its a 1st generation product and perhaps Apple will get some feedback from it and improve the haswell edition.

Yes and all those reviews were on day one. It has improved 100% since release.

Still being reported as recent as november 5th on some online site and forums.

This was a post designed to talk about the haswell update not some fanboy attack without reason.

I don't know why you've been jumped on either, its a rational point of view based on what information is out there.

I'd give it a miss on value for money personally, but then everyone is different and I doubt rev2 will come with a significant discount anyway.

He was jumped on because he has not even used one and he tells people to avoid it like it was a bad product. Forums are full of people saying there is a problem as that is the nature of people. If he had used one and come to the conclusion that it was not for him then fine. You reviewed your RT tablet and told us about the issues, that is how to do it in my opinion.

To be utterly fair I myself was waiting until the juddering problem (with the Intel 4000) was fixed, and once hearing that it had been I jumped on one. I am very very happy with mine :D

Where does he say he hasn't used one?

Fair enough, I must just have read it differently. Sounded to me like the OP was just thinking out loud that's all.

Well I was trying to inspire debate about what improvements Haswell would bring to the RMBP and if that apple had produced a great product which has a few issues as its fresh out the barn that will settle down in later production units or the second generation RMBP.

You said to avoid the product without even using it. Doesn't sound like a debate to me.

Of course Haswell will bring a benefit it is a new generation of CPU. Much like the A15 class mobile chips will bring a benefit to phones over the A9 class.

The current Ivy Bridge Retina is an amazing product that has got better since release, try one and give us your opinion based on user experience.

I've tried multiple units before posting anything in apple stores and resellers and different models and was able to replicate all the reported issues. So yes I have tried it and thought some users will wait for the 2nd generation.

The only thing I would say about the retina display is that I wished they place it on there desktop range where users would benefit most from the high resolutions on a large screen.

It is cause manufactures can't produce retina displays of that size reliably and cost effective?

Yes. Why else did they bring it out on the iPhone first and not their 27" iMac?

And large screen does not benefit that much, as a desktop user you are sitting more than a arms length away from the screen whereas with an iPhone it's in our face, with the laptop it is an arms length away.

Yup, waiting for one with a bit more graphical oomph. If I'm going to spend £2,500 on a laptop, I want one that doesn't lag when I switch spaces.
