Waiting room video loop on Smart TV? Best way to do this?

A friend of mine has asked about getting a sort of 'waiting room video loop' giving info on his business, the sort of thing you see in hospitals and doctors surgeries these days with a 3-5 minute loop of video/graphics promoting a business.

Anyone done anything similar, whats the best way to achieve this? Mate would prefer to use Smart TV's rather than PC monitors. I was thinking maybe something which would play direct from a USB stick or maybe utilise something like Roku to stream it over wifi?

Any suggestions appreciated.

A USB stick with a TV that supports power point presentations or video files and a TV with USB ports.

I believe you can convert power point presentations to video format.

Buy a display designed to be a digital sign, rather than a smart TV. Then you have tons of options for displaying content, as well as a product designed to stay on for 16+ hours a day.

If Android TV, there are some 3rd party video players that can loop videos. MX Player has a loop option which can do this, and can access a USB stick.

Signage TV or a regular TV with a Pi.

I see loads of TV's (usually Samsung) that are playing a 2 minute promo video on loop from USB in shop windows etc. The only way I can tell its from USB is because when it restarts you see the banner at the top saying the filename and the source for a few seconds. My years old Samsung tv can also play files from usb on repeat.

Did this a few years back in a reception, Pi1 was all I needed.

I did this with a standard smart tv and a powerpoint presentation converted to an mp4, put on usb stick, plug usb stick in to tv, play.

We've used Asus Beebox strapped to the back of the TV before.
