Unfortunately, I went back to the old Z77 rig, and the BIOS does indeed not contain Power on PCIe options. So yeah, definitely why I went learning the dual NIC approach. That's fine, I at least now know both ways for use whenever I need to now.

Try turning off in Windows, the Pattern Matching option, that helped when mine kept getting woken up by an innocuous ping or internal network scan to see who's active.

Yes turn Wake on pattern match off. Otherwise various network queries and traffic in addition to just the magic packet will wake it up.
