Walkies

Wow guys... fantastic feedback

I catch your drift now Cykey, nice explanation :D

Thanks as well Starx and MichaelG

I'm trying to take more pictures with more than just the subject in but the general concensus is that in this particular case this is not quite correct

But hey thats why I posted it here to get your feedback

Andy. Yes It was with my macro..... the colours are a lot more lifelike with it

Morgan.... I'll sort you out the full size later when I get home

No, I think your original shot was great, :) but there is always room to talk about ways to make minor improvements for any shot, based on people's personal tastes.

a better cloning job is badly needed on the collar bit though - atm it looks odd!!

I'd personally up the contrast a bit more but that's personal taste, the latest crop is also awesome....

It was just a quick cloning job from a small jpeg, I'm sure Richard T will do a better job from the fullsize picture ;)

fantastic shot, which lens did u use btw?

only minor complaint would be the plant in the background looks like the shape of the cat tale.

maybe its my eyes.

very sweet little kitten...any chance you can mail me a full size shot (my 14 month old son absolutely loves cats and I wouldnt mind getting the shot printed out for his bedroom - I know its soppy!) [email protected]

cheers
its on its way

I think this is what I'd do with the pic, crop it like this (ish) and give it more contrast, less brightness to make it more dramatic between the whites and blacks!

I also toned down the background a bit with the eraser to bring more focus forward towards the lil kitty... not everyone's cup of tea but it's just what I might do! (or course also cloning out the collar, which I can't be bothered to try and do properly haha!)

Bit late in the day for this, been meaning to post but have only just got around to doing it.I like both of your original shots so how about combining both to make the backround and the whites of the cat B&W whilst bringing out the almost monochrome colours of the cat and the colours of its eyes?

A slight crop to take out the out of focus forground and some of the left hand side to make the pot blend a little into the backround I think does the trick.

I'm a relative newbie at this but perhaps this works?

EDIT

I forgot to work on the cats pink nose so heres another late entry...

Or even this one. Almost mono but not quite...
