walking after a meal

Hi people just after a few tips on my walking.

As part of my plan to lose a bit of weight (started april 2nd 08) I have started
Brisk walking of an evening.

It's actualy become quite addictive and I'm doing between 3-5 walks per week. My brisk walk Is 40 minutes long, with no rest In between :D

Anyway to my question: I have started walking in the evening (6pm ish) after my main meal of the day. what I want to know Is, Is It safe/healthy to walk off your meal 10 mins after you've finished It? Or should you Idealy walk before a meal ?

Some info on me:

age: 33
14.5 stone (start of april 08)
Strong build but with a cake belly lol.

PS- I have altered my diet but I may save that for another thread I suppose.
 
Yea its basically in the morning, insulin levels are low, glucagon levels are high, so your body is more likely to use stored fat for energy.
 
thanks for the help but it dont answer my question.

my only option is to walk of an evening.

my question is, is it safe to to walk briskly for 40 minutes after my 6pm meal of the day ?
