Anyone found a neat way to wall mount a sky router?

Indirect mounting would be best I think if someone has found some sort of small bracket / shelf that it can just sit on.

Bit naff but they do the job.one with fan is for HOT weather lol :D

@ANDARIAL it works for you and thanks for posting but I'm looking for something more like an acrylic shelf with an upward lip at the front so it could be mounted and used in the future for other routers if necessary.

Here's a slightly different take on the screw method but it does mean fitting it to suit the size of a particular router which may mean making future holes and repairs which is something I wanted to avoid.

I can't believe that not having a couple of mounting holes provided = progress, but this is the second router I've now had which doesn't have this most basic of features.

Had a couple more ideas, one being mini floating shelf, then I thought of modding a bookend, such as a basic steel type from MUJI.

The cable tie option just wouldn't cut it for the position out on show that it needs to be in, close to the master socket in the hall. I also think they probably wouldn't sit flat against the wall once the strap had gone round the router. There are some screw mounted zip tie slot mountings but again these wouldn't be neat enough and too bespoke to a specific size of one router.

I'm not quite following your setup apart from what looks like power over ethernet? What equipment do you have connected?

I don't think that the router's power cable partially wrapped around the black network cable qualifies as PoE. :D

Also, don't the router's instructions suggest that the outer antennas should be at 45 degrees for best performance? Or was that tried and found to be incorrect in this situation?

At a guess, it looks like he has the router connected to a Cat5/6 port. Probably followed by a switch somewhere else in the house with a PC etc.

Not PoE at all. :)

@andy_mk3

Good to know some manufacturers have the common sense to provide a couple of mounting holes, bravo for ASUS.

Yes indeed :D

Lmao! The Openreach modem is connected to the ASUS router, then I have a cable going to the box on the wall which leads to an 8-port switch in my bedroom, everything else is wireless.

I have no idea. But wireless performs fine, plus the mother would only end up snapping the buggers off :p

PoE = sending power down the ethernet cable to provide power to say a CCTV camera or access point.
