Hey guys, I've got a Panasonic 37" Plasma and I want to wall mount it (who wouldn't?) thing is, I bought a wall bracket on ebay and it didn't come with any fittings so I just want some advice as to what size screws I would need to fix the bracket to the wall with, how many etc (there's space in the bracket for 12, but I really don't fancy drilling 12 holes in the wall!)

Then the other question is what do I mount the TV to the bracket with? do I use the same screws the TV is fixed to the pedestal stand with? or do I need longer ones/bigger ones etc...

This is the downside of ebay purchases I guess!

Thanks in advance.

It'll depend on what the wall you're fixing it to is made out of and how heavy the tv is. If the wall is decent brick then you'll probably be ok with just four (though I'd use at least 8) 2"x10 screws into brown plugs. If it's plasterboard then it's much more awkward.

Hey thanks for the reply

The wall is brick - well, breeze block really - I'll go with 8 :) it's easier than 12 and 4 just seems a little bit optimistic (my luck doesn't always hold out lol)

I'll give that a go today and pop a pic up when it's done - hopefully the tv will be on the wall, not in pieces on the floor, but either way - a pic will be posted!! lol

Make sure it's breeze block and not thermalite. Thermalite is a very soft block, you're drill will go into thermalite incredibly easily without hammer action.

8x of these is what i used for bolting my 50" plasma wallmount bracket to the wall..
And i think it was 6 i used for my 43" plasma wallmount

Nice concise answer - that's what we like :) thanks man I'll get some of those.

Would 4 do for my 37"? or should I stick with 6 for good measure?

4 should be fine but if i was you i would buy/order more then 4 to just be on the safe side for if you feel like using more....

(Think of it this way..Buying and using a few extra bolts or screws is far cheaper then a plasma fallen off onto the floor ;) )

That's exactly my way of thinking too :) Just ordered 8 - Will use 6 in the same configuration as finga said :)

Thanks guys, much appreciated!
