Evening all
I am going to be boxing in some pipework and cabling for a shower and was wondering what product I should use? I will need to tile on to the chosen product and will also need to fix some brackets and the shower fittings through the tiles and in to the board

Any ideas?

I've always used MDF to box in pipes.

What size is the area.

Could also use Marmox Multiboard,or similar totally waterproof, & can tile straight onto it.

Marine ply haha no it's double faced and used for constant exposure to moisture, total overkill.

WBP ply or tile places will do small sheets of hardi backer board for a few £ assuming you don't want to buy and transport a fill 2.44 x 1.22 sheet of ply.

Overkill, marine ply has pretty much no domestic usage.

Regular ply will do, or WBP if OP was paranoid.

My fault for skim reading the post, I didn't see he was actually doing it in the shower itself. MDF is perfectly suitable for boxing in pipes elsewhere in the house.

picking the tiles up tomorrow so will ask about hardi backer

Marmox boards are nice and light
