Wallpaper over new plaster?

So our bedroom has been re plastered and left to dry now for a few months. I want to do a feature wall with wallpaper. Can I just wallpaper over bare plaster or do I need to paint it first?

Weak wallpaper paste first.

Personally I'd put a coat of thinned down paint on first. When it comes to removing the paper later it will be much easier to wash the wall down. Old paste is a nightmare to remove from bare plaster.

Two coats of thinned 50/50 paint/water first or the wallpaper paste will rip the smooth surface off your plaster.
