I ordered a 1 left card last month. Site didn't update and still said 1 left after i ordered. They charged my card and i heard nothing. Contacted them 3 days later only to be told item was out of stock and was there an alternative i wanted.

Well, as Steve M has experienced, after doing a webnote asking if I was actually going to get my item, I received a mail replying that:
"unfortunatly you havent secured this item and its now out of stock. Is there any alternative that you would consider?? please advise"

I've had to reply via webnote, but they too have already billed me for an item that they didn't have instock yet showed as instock.
It's my first time dealing with Overclockers, and from the looks of it it will also be my last time.

Well, i got on the phone to them today, and it WAS out of stock, (i got no email either), So I ordered the
OcUK GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB one. They told me that they will charge my card, (£186 or so for the leadtek) then refund it, after taking out the £234for the alternative card. I asked them why they do this Debit & refund), they said it's just "something we do".

I had a Samsung Monitor last March, they charged me Twice, then refunded the second charge in the same transaction (on my statement at least) same was true of a GFX card I have 18 months ago: Two charges, and then a refund. Well, at least they don't chrage you twice at the end of the day, so I'm quite faithful of overclockers on this.

I don't quite feel the same way
If they have the product in stock, yeah sure, bill my credit card, and then ship me the product.
But I think it's bull that they didn't have the item in stock, billed me, and didn't even bother telling me the card was not in stock. I had to ask them if I was going to get my order, to which they replied no, but we'll keep hold of your money till you make your mind up.

Its a shame your first experience with OCUK was a negative one. In the two years Ive used them Ive found that they are are one of the better etailers out there. Their reply of 'its something we do' wasnt paticularly helpful though.
