I dont know why...

I just want one, after seeing Deadliest Warrior, I really want one...

Ideas where I can get one cheap for shooting things in my garden?

Fully legal to own and can be purchased from most bow stores such as quicks, bow sports etc. However they are pretty dangerous and I really wouldn't get one unless you have the space to use it.

They are as dangerous as guns, use on private land, not your garden.

If its just on a whim then I wouldn't spend much. That bow looks cheap enough.
If you use it at your friends farm and can't get enough of it then maybe look at something else a little more powerful?

There is a pistol crossbow for £30 on the same site, its 80lb.

I don't know anything about them, so unsure as to what the xxlb rating is for lol

Sketchiest site ever.

If you can buy a well performing Compound bow for less than £450 I will eat my hat...

As for a £12 crossbow... You'll end up with a bolt in your head :(

Plus.... LOOK AT THE GUYS NAME! Sounds like a cockney market vendor..

Ronnie Sunshines are well respected. Maybe not for archery but certainly a good vendor.

As has already been mentioned, they are legal to buy and own. However, don't expect to walk into any archery store and walk out with one. Most will be very reluctant to sell a weapon to someone who just fancies a crossbow.

Best bet is to head online. Firstly, forget that toy you linked, it's awful. Try looking Here for a semi decent bow.

Secondly be aware that any decent crossbow will need arrows matched to the draw weight of the bow, otherwise at best they won't fly straight, worst they'll deform on shooting and hurt someone. Then you need to consider any target you'll be hitting. If it isn't a proper target you'll damage the arrows very quickly. Even with a target what happens to the arrow if you miss? Do you have enough down-range? Forget bow hunting as it's illegal in this country.

Also consider that the local plod will most likely take an interest. Shooting in your garden is a huge no-no. Anyone live nearby? Then forget it. If you loose a stray arrow it has the potential to kill someone. You wouldn't expect to be allowed to shoot a gun in your garden and a crossbow is just the same.

Actually, on reading the read thoroughly a toy crossbow is probably a good idea for you. No offence intended but probably best to steer clear of proper crossbows if all you want to do is shoot stuff in your garden.
